The South Coast Community Chorale is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading the joy of choral music to the greater South Coast community. Two concerts are held in May for our spring concerts and two concerts are held in December for our winter concerts.
SCCC began during the summer of 1997 when seven friends got together to work on a project to form a new choral society that would perform classical works as other choral groups do, but would also do a lighter, more contemporary works. Over the years the group has grown to over 60 members from cities and towns throughout the South Coast area.
Through donations, dues, and fundraising, SCCC has established two memorial scholarships:
The Isabel White Memorial Scholarship and the Karen K. Miller Memorial Scholarship
The scholarships are awarded at one of the SCCC’s spring concerts each year.
Abigail Comstock - Winner of the 2024 Isabel White Memorial Scholarship
Isabel had a great love of singing and helping out the community before passing away in 2002. In Isabel’s memory, SCCC will award a scholarship to an outstanding high school senior pursuing a career in the field of music (instrumental and vocal, performing, education, production and theater) in the South Coast area.

Recipients of the scholarship will receive tickets for the concert date of their choice when they receive notification of their award.
The concerts are scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, 2024 and Sunday, May 19th, 2024.

Karen was a dedicated member of SCCC serving as Board of Director Secretary, a member of multiple committees, including the scholarship committee. She unexpectedly past in 2016. Because of Karen’s passion for education, SCCC awards a scholarship to a student pursuing a degree at an institution of higher education.
